Apprenticeship framework: Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (LSIS) Apprenticeship type: Intermediate Level Apprenticeship Skills required: • An ability to communicate effectively with pupils and staff • Be an outstanding sports leader who leads by example and inspires others to follow • Ability to use own initiative and be pro-active • The ability to efficiently manage own time, tasks and projects • Knowledge of a range of sports, including rules and regulations You must have full clean driving licence and access to your own transport Qualification required: No specific qualifications are required However it is essential that you have experience in representing your school in sport and the knowledge of some of the rules and regulations in at least 2 sports. It will also be desirable if you have experience in being involved in supporting inter-school competition, being involved in supporting intra-school competition, knowledge of rules and regulations in more than 2 sports, experience of being involved in coaching sport to others. Having experience in being responsible for managing projects in sport and the experience of being a Young Ambassador is also desirable. Working week: 30 hours a week, term time only Training to be provided: Level 2 Certificate in Support Teaching and Learning in Schools Functional skills at Level 1 in English, maths &IT The successful applicant will need to attend an induction session plus a literacy/numeracy diagnostic at a County Training centre. They will also attend 20 college sessions. These include functional skills, Employer Rights and Responsibilities and theory work to support the practical element of the qualification. Other important information: The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) for apprentices from the 1st October 2013 is £2.68 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. The new NMW applies to time working plus time spent training as this is also part of the Apprenticeship. Anyone not covered by this age category above will be entitled to the NMW appropriate for their age. Future prospects: We encourage our Apprentices to progress onto Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeships whenever possible. This position is for a 12 month period, there is no guarantee of continued employment after this date however at the end of the 12 month period you will be fully qualified to Level 2. County Training will support you if you wish to progress onto a Level 3 qualification.
